MEET HONEY D0779
Please Read Carefully. #### NOT SUITABLE FOR SMALL CHILDREN ####
Before I tell you a bit about me it’s important that you understand my history. I started my life in a bare yard with some bessa bricks as walls and corrugated iron for a roof. I then moved into care with Paws and Claws. In December 2020 I found my perfect home, with a lovely mum who worked on all my quirks and turned me into a loving and sweet young girl. Recent unexpected health issues meant she had to re-evaluate my long term care and she decided I would be better with a new family.
There’s a few things you need to understand:
* My first week in my new home will be decompressing and learning your routine. Do not expect cuddles or affection. Just leave me to do my thing, and it will be a good week for me.
* My second week in my new home will be building trust and understanding. I will approach and seek affection on my terms, but will run if approached too quickly.
* Week three will be the golden week, where I will try and be as close to you as I can, but sudden movement will still frighten me. But I will start to sit next to you on the couch, and snuggle up against your leg.
It will take time for me to trust you, but once I do, it will be well worth the wait. It’s worth noting that I don’t do great if left alone for extended periods of time, and I can become destructive. In my foster carer’s home, I have had 2 small dogs for company, so have been on my best behaviour.
I am not suitable for young children under 10 years, as if surprised I can give a warning nip. I don’t want to hurt anyone, just let you know that I am uncomfortable.
As I’m also allergic to chicken, a large number of dog foods are not suitable for me, so I will need a special diet.
I also have some minor patella subluxation, which means occassionally my knee may pop out, then straight back in again. The vet has said I may live out the rest of my life without surgery, but you need to understand that it could one day be required, and my new forever family should be aware of this.
I am an 8 and a half year old, slightly nervous, Tibetan Spaniel x Kelpie girl. With patience, love and time, you will be rewarded with love in return.
My adoption fee is $350 and I am currently Located in Brooklyn Park.
